Insulation With Powder Coating
Powder coating is a rather new technology to achieve high-quality insulation on metallic parts.
The following applications have been successfully established:
1. Medical technology / insulation of mono- and bipolar instruments for HF-surgery
2. Electric motors / insulation of stators, rotors
3. Electrical engineering / insulation of ring cores, ferrite cores and bus bars.
High-tech production can be installed at low investment costs requiring only little experience.
There is no need for any powder exhaust system or to supply compressed air. Production can start with a small convection oven and powder.
It is irrelevant whether different work pieces need to be coated simultaneously or one after the other.
Using different kinds of powder is not a problem anymore. Colour change in only 5 minutes!
Storage and risk of decay of the powder can be kept at a minimum.
Having little amounts of powder in stock is absolutely sufficient. The application needs only 1-2 kg of powder - with zero powder loss!
By now, quickcoating technology has been tested with many different kinds of powder.
- We recommend RILSAN ESY, HALAR ECTFE or NYLON-R for the insulation coating of surgical instruments.
- Various 3M powders are best for insulating e-motors.
- Thermoplastics should be used for the insulation of ring cores and bus bars.
Currently there is probably no technology that is better than quickcoating for insulating different work pieces - even in small quantities - in a cost-efficient way and with various colours reaching the best quality.
