Just like the spring bushing, the individual roller of the flexible roller cage is also wound out of spring strip steel, hardened and then ground. The flexible roller cage is used primarily where impact loads are to be absorbed. Acting as an elastic sleeve inside the bearing, it absorbs the majority of the impacts. The spiral shaped spring grooves constantly clean the bearing and distribute the lubricant uniformly over the bearing surface. The rollers in the flexible roller cage can be supplied with diameters from 7.5 to 45 mm.
