Split Roller Bearings for Continuous Casting Machines - high temperatures - high protection - slow rotation - low maintenance Eich bearings are designed for applications in which standard bearings show a low performance. Resulting in a non-standard production Eich bearings are individually designed solutions produced in small to middle sized lots. Special bearings – function according to standard bearing designs - are also part of Eich production line. Extreme applications as in Continuous Casters call for extremely well designed bearing solutions. The centre bearing of the drive rollers in continuous casting machines can be equipped with split bearing units from Eich. Split cylindrical roller bearings run inside a water-cooled housing. Compared with the normal versions, the split inner race of the bearing is slightly broadened so that the race halves can be preloaded. This results in three major advantages using Eich split bearings: High tolerance against temperatures above average, dirt and shock loads. Eich splits reach a long lifetime and will reduce maintenance cost.
