The SGSN is upgraded to an SGSN-MME mobility server for Evolved Packet Core networks by a smooth software upgrade. The SGSN-MME supports triple 3GPP access, GSM, WCDMA and LTE and can be included in an SGSN-MME Pool.
Building on the proven software and functionality, the new SGSN-MME MkVIII platform on Ericsson Blade System extends the capabilities to meet even the most aggressive growth predictions. It offers superior scalability that supports more than 10 million users per node and up to 640 million users when deployed in a pooled configuration.
