Submerged arc welding (SAW) is a highly efficient automation welding method. There are numerous customers around the world who currently weld in ESAB applications. Our large range of pressure welding heads in the A2 and A6 series are the basis of our SAW-welding automations, such as welding beam-travelling carriages, welding tractors, welding portals and length welding fixtures. Depending on the application, fully automatic SAW welding can be carried out with one or more pressure welding heads at the same time. Each head has single welding wire or twin welding wires or other highly productive solutions.

At ESAB we have turnkey solutions for automated SAW welding and have also developed accompanying equipment, such as fully automatic flux management systems and seam tracking systems for maximum optimisation and profitability for our customers.
