The goal was to create an Advanced Input Systems standard product design, duplicating the existing laptop layout with a backlit rubber solution. Power consumption had to be kept to a minimum.
Solution:
* Elastomer design was fit into existing plastic enclosure.
* LED backlighting used solar-powered LED's to maximize light output with minimal power consumption.
Application:
Advanced Input Systems standard desktop product.
Innovations:
Solar-powered LED's. Three levels of light intensity are provided for the user.
