From 1998, DeWind has supplemented its product range with wind turbines of the higher power class, the D6 series. The wind energy converters are available with 1250 kilowatt nominal power. The D6 product line is supplied with hub heights from 60 to 91.5 m. The rotor diameters offered are 60, 62 m and also 64 m . The wind turbines operate at variable rotational speeds and are equipped with a combination of hydraulic central pitching and single blade pitching. They are equipped with low-noise and high-efficiency planetary spurwheel gearing. The double-fed asynchronous generator is encapsulated for protection against external influences. The D6 series has an aerodynamic main brake system as well as forcibly actuated disk brakes acting as parking brakes. Their cut-in speed is approx. 2.8-3.0 m/s, nominal power is reached at approx. 12.3-13 m/s, and the cut-off speed is 23 to 28 m/s, depending on type.
