The ESF Flat Sorter comes in two versions: the Split Tray and the Tilt Tray Sorter. Both are proved solutions within its specific field of application for many decades.
Generally speaking, Split Sorters (also know as Bomb-bay sorters) and Tilt Sorters are used for the automatic sorting of relatively lightweight and flat items. Usually, these items are able to withstand a drop of a couple of feet. The items to be sorted are placed in a tray by means of one or more induction systems. Once the carrier is positioned above the destination the trays are opened. The content then drops flat out of the carrier and falls into the destination (box, chute, carton etc).

The main benefits of Split/Tilt Tray Sorters

- Simple and robust principles that demands little and simple maintenance

- Suitable for products that are difficult to handle (their shape is not fixed / round / unpacked / soft- goods / unconveyable).
