Electric shearer loaders manufactured by FAMUR are intended to form the main part of a high performance longwall system. The shearers enable pocketless, bi-directional cutting and loading of coal in longwall operations, with an ability to work in seam heights from 1.2 to 6.0m (upon request). Depending on the shearer configuration, the supply and control circuits are separated and contained in two explosion-proof compartments or inserted into the main body. The modular design and technical solutions enable user-friendly configuration and fulfil the highest requirements.
Important design features of FAMUR electric shearers include:
- automatic haulage speed control system as a function of current loading of the electric motors
- diagnostics and monitoring system for continuous measurement of the shearer's operational parameters with the possibility of data transmission to the surface control room
