Longwall shearer loaders with FAMUR hydraulic haulage are intended to operate in high performance longwall operations. The shearers enable pocketless, bi-directional cutting and loading of coal using the longwall method with the ability to work at seam heights from 1.2 m up to 5.2 m. The self-supporting frame of the shearer consists of two main components: the drive-supply hydraulic power pack system and electrical control box.
Important design features of FAMUR hydraulic shearers include:
- modern automatic haulage speed control system as a function of current loading of the electric motors
- diagnostics and monitoring system for continuous measurement of the shearer's operational parameters with the possibility of data transmission to the surface control room
- mechanical and electric fuses to protect electrical motors from overloading
- main pump with constant working circuit flushing to reduce the working temperature
