Semiconductor contactor FEAS GmbH
Application
FEAS semiconductor contactors are three-phase electronic load relays, which be used with high switching frequencies in alternating 3-phase voltage systems and this with loudless operation. Because of the contactless operation the live span is nearly unlimited. Robust power semiconductors are implemented and they are schwitching in voltage zero crossover and generate so no additional high frequency noise pulses.
The equipment is integrated into a functional and sturdy case, which makes it insensitive to choke stress and vibrations. Also an application in aggresiv environment is unproblematic.
An installed temperature monitoring, signals an excessively high temperature rise before the equipment protects themselves and disconnects. If the implemented phase monitoring detect the loss of one phase, the start of the motor is retarded and this status is signaled, untill all three lines are present.
Operational principle
The semiconductor operates according to the principle of a zero crossover or a zero voltage switch. After applying the control voltage the power output (load circuit) of the semiconductor relay is opened, once the first zero point of the line voltage is reached. The typical time of response is shorter than the half period duration that means less than 10mS with 50Hz frequency.
Due to their excellent behaviour with current peaks and reverse voltages these semiconductor version relays are particularly suitable for applications with inductive and capacitive loads.
Version
