Rapid and rooted improvements in the field of electronics have caused conversion of electromechanical meters into an electronic structure. Electronic energy meters are considered to be the solution for closely monitoring and minimizing losses. Federal Electric has offered multi-tariff electronic energy meters, which have been developed at the R&D Departement, to the users. Electronic energy meters, which have been designed for use in industrial plants and residences, are manufactured in class-1 sensitivity as mono-phase and tri-phase. Meters have 4 tariffs to provide the tariff categories prescribed in the regulations on electricity tariffs and they are capable of separating a day into 8 time periods and making individual tariffs for week days, Saturdays and Sundays. The major purpose in these tariffs is to disperse electrical energy consumption to 24 hours in a balanced manner and to raise awareness among the consumers about electricity consumption. Consumers may direct their consumption by checking the meter data. Since each time period shall be subject to different pricing, tariff consumption shall direct the consumers to consume electricity during the cheap time period.
