Positive displacement pump
FELUWA Pumpen GmbH

For municipal wastewater pumping stations positive displacement pumps are generally preferred, because these are much more economical and more reliable than other pumping systems.

Comparatively higher investment costs are redeemed within a short period of time by low energy costs and minimum spare parts demand.
The basic configuration of displacement pumping stations usually consists of two pumps (wastewater designs of MULTISAFE double hose-diaphragm pumps or hose diaphragm piston pumps) with separate ventilation tank and compressor. Operation of the pumps is dependent on the filling level of the wastewater collecting pit. The pumps are either subject to alternating or simultaneous operation.
The ball check valves with a free passage of 80 to 150 mm ensure reliable operation without pre-screening by means of a rake or solids separator.
If several pumping stations discharge into the same main, the individual units are controlled in a way that the maximum capacity of the sewage treatment plant is not exceeded.
