Surge arrester type 2 for photovoltaic applications Ferraz Shawmut
Our Helio Box junction box dedicated to photovoltaic applications is fitted with Surge Trap® protective devices.
Surge Trap® are designed with a TPMOV™ as a core. TPMOV™ is a metal oxide varistor with a built-in and patented self-disconnecting system. Surge Trap® provide an optimized safety to photovoltaic equipment and installations. Indeed disconnecting via a fuse in series is not possible due to too low fault current and via a breaker let the user without any protection against overvoltages.
Before the end of life of the Surge Trap, the result of disconnecting is visible in front via an indicator.
