We friction weld not only GfK - CfK - high quality materials but also wood-connections total free of adhesive or other additives. Our devise is, being with the first in the research which enabled us a wood joining machine up to 100 kN. Upon initiation of the University for Wood Construction (BOIS) of ETH in Lausanne/Swiss we have risked to develop a high quality machine. This machine has world wide unique features. Nature wooden boards one lying upon the other can be welded with surfaces of more than 500 cm². The range of application is the manufacture of solid large wood elements, ceilings- and black boards as well as parquet. From the beginning we have taken the chance world wide of the technology growth. This special field predicts that this technology is has a great market because in Europe it is worked with million of tons of adhesive and glue, which now can be saved in favour of the environment. This ecological procedure is useful for the existing "binder" in the wood which will be opened and activated by pressure during the friction procedure. The examinations have shown that this viscose mass produced in the wood components (lignin, cellulose, hemicelluloses) is able to act as an adhesive. It is assumed that the compound by the formation of physical mechanism such as Van-der-Waals forces and hydrogen bond are supported.
The oscillation can be switched between linear- and circular oscillation. Main advantages of the procedure are extreme speed of the joint connection manufacture, which is done in only few seconds. Our welding technology surpasses the firmness of nailed or screwed connections.
