Quick release ball lock pins have a wide range of applications in fastening, locating, and alignment. These positive locking pins will not release until the button on the handle is depressed, which then allows the balls to retract into the shank. This allows the pin to be inserted or removed from a hole. All quick release pins are available in a variety of lengths and diameters with shank materials in either:
- 17-4 stainless steel: provides high shear strength and excellent corrosion resistance
- 300 series stainless steel: has a low shear strength, but excellence corrosion resistance
- 4130 alloy steel: provides high shear strength, but low corrosion resistance

Several different handle styles are offered to better compliment an application's specifications. They are made of either black anodized aluminum, stainless steel, or black thermoplastic. These styles include:
