The Foundrax Model BHD (powered) radial arm Brinell hardness tester consists of a separate certified Brinell Test Head for applying the test forces of up to 29 420N (3000kgf), and a heavy duty frame in which it is mounted that is specifically designed to resit the forces generated in Brinell hardness testing. The radial arm holds the Test Head of the machine and allows it to be manoeuvred to accurately position it for one or more tests without moving the workpiece. The arm can be moved out of the test area to allow the workpiece to be lowered onto the table by crane. This system is extremely versatile; various alternative Test Heads are available; it may be very quickly converted for use as a portable Brinell hardness tester which still carries out the same test. The BHD has a maximum test height of 900mm and a maximum reach of 600mm. Specially designed frames including "bridge" type machine with or without an intergral test bed can also be provided. All Foundrax equipment is designed to fully withstand harsh shop floor industrial environments such as those found in steelworks, foundries, and forges.
