Rigid chain Framo Morat

The LinearChain is a special kind of chain which, unlike the conventional mechanism, becomes rigid when operated under thrust load, but can still be looped and driven by a conventional sprocket wheel. The LinearChain can realize thrust forces up to 35 kN.
The classic power transmission system involving a continuous chain with at least two sprocket wheels and a tensioning element is replaced by an "open-ended" chain with two free ends. The drive can be located wherever it is most convenient.
The chains are given their push force characteristics by incorporating specially shaped side links that engage and support each other with very little axial play.
