Freescale's Xtrinsic MMA16xxW and MMA16xxNWR2 inertial satellite sensors are positioned around the car for front and side crash detection. The MMA16xxW and MMA16xxNWR2 accelerometers are designed to support the DSI communication protocol. Freescale is the only supplier with a Z-axis over-damped inertial satellite sensor housed in a QFN package, thus providing a smaller footprint and more flexibility for module orientation in vehicles.
