Spline gauges are go and no-go plug gauges for splines. They are used as a quick inspection method for splines with involute, straight-sided and serration flanks.
The most important feature when inspecting splines is its usability- which is tested with spline gauges. The spline gauges are designed according to the tolerances 'actual' and 'effective'.
