Infrared heater
2 - 10 µm Friedr. Freek

When infrared energy strikes an object it is either absorbed, transmitted or reflected from the surface. Most materials encountered in industry are best suited for infrared heating as their maximum absorption occurs amidst the infrared spectrum at wavelengths between 2 - 10 µm. As infrared is a non-contact heating process, there is a rapid energy transfer from the heater to the product. Infrared heaters can be operated in vacuum or atmosphere.
