Mobile hydraulic systems are exposed to ambient outdoor temperature conditions, as well as the elements, so they must be able to operate under a wide range of temperatures and conditions. In the southern United States for example, ambient conditions can reach 130° F, making it difficult to limit the fluid temperature to less than 140° F.
