Our MSN pumps are widely used for heavy-duty service in refinery, petrochemical and pipeline applications, as well as fertilizer services such as boiler feed, multi-product shipping, lean and semi-lean processes.
The multi-stage design is double-volute for radial balance at all capacities, and it can have single or double suction. The horizontally split case is ruggedly designed to withstand high working and hydrostatic pressures. Suction and discharge nozzles are integrally cast with the lower half of the case to permit disassembly of the pump without disturbing the piping connections. Opposed impellers provide axial balance over the entire operating range. The pump can be equipped with a first-stage impeller with a large eye area for single suction and in most cases, double suction to obtain low NPSH requirements and thus reduce the possibility of cavitation. Each impeller is keyed to the shaft and assembled with a slight shrink. They are positively locked to prevent movement, with keys staggered 180° on the shaft.
