Falling film evaporation plant for pectin

Pectin is produced from the peels of apples and citrus fruit in an extraction process. The pectin extract is further concentrated in falling film evaporation plants heated by mechanical vapour recompressors. The alcohol used in the process is recovered in a distillation plant.
