FFC connectors are available as:

* 0.3mm, 0.5mm and 1mm pitches
*FFC Side Entry - Flip Lock - Bottom Contact.
*FFC Side Entry - Slide Lock - Top & Bottom Contact versions.
* Surface mount.
* Side entry and Top entry.
* Top contact (side entry only) and bottom contact.
* ZIF (Zero Insertion Force).
* Slide and flip lock actuator styles.

Why FFC connectors?

FFC connectors vs. traditional 'two piece' male and female IDC and discrete wire cable to board systems have several advantages including a smaller PCB package size, low height profile, light weight, one piece nature means low cost and they have fewer assembly actions.

FFC is also favored in applications where moving parts mean the flexibility of FFC wins over discrete cable/IDC, such as scanners and photocopiers.

Zero Insertion Force (ZIF):
* During insertion, no force is exerted on the cable contacts by the connector contacts.
* Has a locking actuator to hold FFC/FPC in place.
* Useful in applications with shock and higher vibration (E.G. handheld).
