The standard drum magnet has a magnetic field strength of 3600 Gauss (ferrite/neodymium version) or 6000 Gauss (neodymium version). This makes it suitable for the removal of Fe particles of at least 0.5 mm from coarser raw materials with a maximum particle size of 100 mm, for applications in, e.g., the plastics and ceramics industries.
The drum magnet is mounted in the middle of a robust, blasted stainless steel housing.
