The vertical axis transfer machines with hanging rotary table are particularly suitable for completing parts which usually require multiple machining of 3, 4, 5 ways and can be supplied with up to 14 stations having three or more units per station.
They allow an excellent accessibility and visibility of the area for tool changing and permit therefore a changeover time of 40 - 90 minutes, cleaning of the working area excluded.
The base frame is made of normalized electric welded sheet steel and is well dimensioned; the rotary indexing table is provided with three Hirth type face gears which are able to ensure high precision positioning.
The machining units are completely controlled by CN and the feed drive can be hydraulic with servo valve or with ball screw.
The locking devices for clamping the workpieces are self-centering and hydraulically powered chucks; they are mounted on the indexing table and have adjustable clamping force and jaw stroke.
