Guntert & Zimmerman pioneered the use of canal construction machinery starting back in 1946. G&Z's Canal Equipment has been used successfully throughout the United States and many parts of the world for over 50 years. More than 75% of the canals in the Western United States have been built with Guntert & Zimmerman equipment.

Canal machinery is custom built to specific job requirements and can be designed to perform in a number of applications. In 1996, Guntert & Zimmerman equipment was selected by an international consortium of contractors to be used on the largest canal in the world. G&Z equipment was selected because of its superior technology and G&Z's years of experience in canal construction. The resulting machinery was selected in 1999 by ENR as "Best Project" .....
