Following suggestions of Asian customers, the HAEHNE Company has developed new pillow block sensors for small forces primarily for the converting area. This aluminium design is not only very lightweight but also very cost-efficient. However, the HAEHNE Company did not select the predominant displacement design based on the LVDT principle (linear variable differential transformer) but instead chose the strain gauge design because of the generally greater stiffness. Experience in the field with high - speed applications as shown the LVDT principle in conjunction with resonances can result in oscillations and vibrations - tuning fork effect.
The new pillow block sensors are available for vertical and horizontal applications and cover the force range of 100 to 500 N.
