High-performance material removal of steel and titanium makes extremely high demands on a milling head. The design must be extremely rigid to absorb and contain the high torques and forces. Handtmann offers the orthogonal head for this requirement. It has the necessary characteristics and for the first time allows for true 5-axis simultaneous machining of titanium.
Hydraulic axis clamping and pretensioned torque motors in both rotational axes ensure precise machining of parts.
The variant of the orthogonal head with Hirth toothed wheelwork is useful when heavy chip removal is required but 5-axis simultaneous machining is not needed.
