The FT range of blind ended threaded inserts has been introduced to meet the needs of those moulders, who, for a variety of reasons, prefer to mould-in. The unique design of 3 herringbone knurl bands combined with the included recesses give extremely high levels of performance in both pull-out and torque tests. Blind-ended inserts prevent the ingress of plastic, as does the special counterbore which also facilitates easy assembly upon locating pins. Another advantage is the rolled thread tapping procedures used during manufacture to reduce the risk of metal dust affecting the mouldings. The blind end being 'Pip' free results in a reduction of the risk of contamination and assists automatic insert loaders. The unique design of this insert ensures high levels of performance. Normally produced in brass, other materials are possible on quotation. In some applications, these inserts can be installed after moulding.
