Press-in threaded insert 20117 HPI
Harrison Silverdale Ltd
Series 20117 Type HPI Inserts offer very hard wearing threads in alloys, preventing the stripping of threads where multiple installation / removal of the mating screw is likely. They are also suitable as an effective remedy for the reclamation of stripped threads. There is no requirement for pre- tapped holes. They are fast to install and no special tooling is required for assembly. A simple press assembly with a polished flat punch is all that is required. A smooth hardened punch is advisable when installing these inserts to minimise friction and thus to allow the insert to rotate freely during installation. To achieve optimum pull-out loads the design must be such that a stationary component is always in contact with the top of the peripheral edge of the insert. This guarantees pull-out of the insert will only occur by total shear of the parent material.
