HAUG piston compressors with magnetic coupling offers the best gas tightness for Bio-methane and biogas.
The gas tightness of a compressor is essentially determined by the gaskets and drive system used. HAUG piston compressors are equipped with a unique drive system with frictionless magnetic coupling. The compressor is hermetically and permanently gastight. All gas compressors with magnetic coupling drive are leak tested with helium at HAUG's workshop prior to shipment. The detected leakage rates are very small, only a few grams per year! which is very important for Biogas treatment plants. Leakage rate < 1% offers a positive environmental balance, because methane has a damage potential which is 23 times higher than CO2.
Consequently, HAUG uses exclusively o-rings inside the compressor. Thereby the compressor is technically and permanently gastight - even after maintenance or service jobs.
