The cone screw mixer is well established in the pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals sectors. The gentle mixing action using low shear agitation results in minimal mechanical product stress and is therefore particularly suitable for homogenising sensitive bulk powders. Despite the gentle mixing action the technology used results in high mixing accuracy and efficiency and is therefore able to mix and homogenise solids with very different product characteristics.

Even cohesive products can be mixed without lump formation, taking into account various general conditions, while bulk goods at risk of segregation are mixed with a high mixing quality and will retain their homogeneity even during emptying or when the vessel is only partially filled. The success of this system lies in achieving the right mixture of gentle, 3-dimensional movement of the entire batch and the intensive shifting of individual particles in relation to one another. In many cases the cone screw mixer has basic functions that are far superior to those of well-known high-speed mixers, high-powered drives and impressive throughput rates. Having high turndown capability with easy emptying and cleaning and being fully enclosed, the cone screw mixer is suitable for multi-product applications.
