Apart from spiral springs, different bellows versions are available for protecting shafts, columns, spindles and other circular rotating parts.
The round stitched bellows consist of punched disks, which are then stitched internally and externally. Particularly good shape retention and high transverse stiffness are achieved by stitching. We use Valmex Eco 600 as standard material; aluminum glass fiber or glass fiber Viton is used for high-temperature applications. Please refer to the material tables in the last part of the catalogue for accurate information on materials.
The round stitched bellows are extremely resistant and can even withstand exposure to sharp chips, especially smaller sizes. They are only suitable as conditional protection against liquids or oil.
Round stitched bellows can be used horizontally or vertically. In the case of horizontal use, we recommend the installation of additional support and guide rings made of plastic or aluminum, which will guarantee a uniform distance from the spindle, thus increasing operating life. With large extensions, the stability of the bellows can be increased by installing a wire ring in every fold. We usually use metal frames for connection and mounting; sleeves are also possible as an alternative.
