Environmental gas analyzer Hilase
Atmospheric aerosol plays an important role in atmospheric processes There are various sources of atmospheric aerosols including combustion of fossil fuels, biomass burning or mineral dust from desert region. The degree of contribution to the above mentioned effects depends on the type of aerosols, therefore there is a strong need for instruments which can measure not only the total concentration of atmospheric aerosols, but can also classify it. Photoacoustics was always recognized as a highly promising method for qualitative analysis of aerosols, as it can measure directly the amount of light absorption by aerosols, while being largely insensitive to uncharacteristic light scattering. However photoacoustic differentiation between aerosols was strongly hindered by the fact that optical absorption spectra of aerosols are highly uncharacteristic, when measured in a narrow wavelength range. We have developed and patented a method of measuring photoacoustically the absorption spectra in a wide wavelength range, i.e. from the near-infrared to the UV. With our MuWaPas system it is possible top differentiate between aerosol types.
Besides aerosols, we also offer gas monitoring systems for ammonia, methane, ozone or BTEX monitoring.
