Belt filters
HOFFMANN belt filters operate on the gravity filtration principle. Depending on the level of filtering required, filter paper with differing degrees of porosity are used.
These filters cleanse emulsions and low-viscosity oils used in machining of steel, castings, aluminum and other nonferrous metals. We recommend using stainless steel models when handling aggressive fluids, such as wastewater and chemicals.
Method of operation:
Soiled coolant, or other process fluids, is routed to the conveyor belt of the filter facility. This belt is covered with filter paper and forms a depression, enhancing the gravitational filtering effect.
The fluid penetrates through the filter paper, is cleansed and flows into the clean tank section located below the belt. The cleansed medium is pumped back to the processing machine by a supply pump, thus completing the filtration circuit.
