Normal gummed paper tape are made in accordance with the German standards DIN 55476 page 1 and essentially made up of two strips of Kraft paper hot glued together (~70°C) upon the interposition of fibreglass threads: some positioned lengthwise and others in an "X" form with an angle of 37°. The application of vegetable glue (starch gum, standard spreading) or animal glue (gelatine, spreading on request) on paper strips complete the tape.
