The ifm temperature sensors manufacturers are based on a PT 1000 which converts the measured quantity of temperature into a signal as a result of the change in resistance. A microprocessor controls the evaluation of the electrical signal. For the efector 600 the system temperature is directly indicated on the unit by an LED display.
The electronic circuitry is made in film technology, i.e. a flexible, temperature-stable and extremely resistant polyimide film is used as a carrier for the SMD components. In conjunction with a special potting compound this leads to a high shock and vibration resistance. The microprocessor and the display make the handling of the efector 600 very simple. By means of programming buttons the values for switch point, hysteresis, switching frequency and delay time can be set electronically without the system temperature being present. This enables the installation of the efector 600 in a few minutes. The values are saved in an EEPROM independently of the supply voltage.
