The scroll pump can be operated either as a single pump or in pump
combinations.
The ILMVAC scroll pumps have been conceived and developed as truly chemically
resistant dry running pumps. The wetted parts receive as PTFE based
proprietary treatment ensuring resistance to most corrosive chemicals.
However, chemical resistivity tolerance may vary according to the application.
The pump has a gas ballast device which also ensures the pumping of vapours up
to a defined maximum intake pressure. Should condensate form in the pump body,
the unique vertical construction of the pump allows it to flow out of the
pressure port easily. The working pressure ranges from low to high vacuum. The
dry running avoids pump oil particles from diffusing back into the suction
port of the pump and on into the connected apparatus. The time consuming
filling and draining of operating oil is also eliminated, which provides clean
handling of the pump.
