3D smart camera
1 GHz | VisionCam PS 3D
IMAGO Technologies GmbH
What is new? Our camera head with LinLog® technology Photonfocus provides full 3D resolution 150 lines/second (By ROI up to several thousand). A newly developed algorithm ensures that - in real time - the best spot of the laser line is found. This creates realistic 3D information of the object.
(1) That means the 3D data of the camera are very good - a post processing in the image processing is usually unnecessary.
Many 3D applications must - that can be expected in world coordinates [mm] - to be calibrated. This can't be a camera on its own and it is always application dependent. In this case you need an external computer. The VisionCam PS 3D can convert values in its processing unit.
(2) The camera itself is able to perform the calibration (application dependent).
In the industrial image processing, it is usually a good-/bad decision - and not the recording of 3D image data. 3D is just a tool, as we see other other properties of the object in the 3rd dimension. This evaluation will take place in the camera. And it is well prepared for this: With a 1.0 or 1.2 GHz DSP, 256 MB or 512 MB of RAM it has enough processing power to perform the 3D analysis.
Example calculation: 150 3D-lines per second, each with 1024 height information = data rate 154 KByte/s = 6510 processor cycles per height information.
(3) The camera itself takes on the integrated processor, the entire application and decides pass or fail.
