The Double Deep Storage System consists of a pallet racking system. Similar to standard ones but with a greater depth, this storage system can be used for storing pallets in two rows. It comprises two paired standard rows of racks which can be side loaded. It increases the storage space and reduces the waste of space by reducing the number of spans between racks. Special loading equipment is required to load and unload these racks. The racking system lowers the processing speed and cargo access time, but saves much space in the warehouse. These systems are used in storage facilities with a medium range of traffic and a limited range of products; in such situations, the system organizes storage in a compact and effective manner.
