InduKey Keyboard Production presents the next generation of vandal-proof stainless steel keyboards, InduSteel and InduSteel². These stainless steel keyboards have been specially developed for the POI market and for semi-supervised or unsupervised applications. Most internet based kiosks such as web payphones come with keyboards. The clients who use these facilities are mostly web surfers and email users and are more familiar with the use of keyboards. In general touchscreens will remain popular for use in the public and retail sectors but keyboards will continue to be used for all kiosk types, especially in the fast growing internet based kiosks segment.
The InduSteel range is ideally suited to ‘hostile’ public service environments such as information and multimedia terminal applications including libraries, shops and internet kiosks. Sealed to IP65 standard, a silicon membrane between the keycaps and the silicon switching elements prevents any ingress of liquid and dust also making the range ideal for outdoor applications.
