We can apply these resources to create customer products based on the proven technology platforms used in our standard products. This allows us to offer a rapid, low-cost, low-risk pathway for the development of new products and, if required, customers can write their own applications in C.

AGV (automatic guided vehicle) project. In this application an RS232 ELX has been re-engineered as a control and display panel. The project called for :

Dimensional changes to suit the existing fixing arrangement

Firmware changes to emulate the existing communications protocol

Enhanced resilience to externally-generated radiated and conducted interference

Provision for either an LCD display (lower cost) or a VF display (high visibilty).
Unlike mose ELX-based projects, this special-purpose professional calculator is battery-operated using a standard, replaceable 9v battery. With the supplied NimH rechargeable cell, under normal operating conditions, the unit will run for 50 hours on a full charge. Professional keyboard and display drivers were supplied by us but the main application was written by the customer.
