Collimator for fiber optics INEL
Used in X-ray diffraction, in order to obtain a low divergence and polychromatic beam
An associated filter (depending on wavelength) could limit the energy band of the spectrum of emission; then Kbeta radiation could be largely decreased. Up to now, different types of collimation are available.
If the collimator is directly linked to the source, the primary beam is poly chromatic. Associated with a graphite monochromator first or a parabolic mirror (without filters), the band width in energy becomes much more defined.
The mechanical holder allows to change collimator size without any beam adjustment.
Inner diameters vary from 0,3mm to 3,2mm.
Usually, point source is required for the used of collimators optics. They are mainly used for texture or stress measurements.
