Access control is installed on millions of doors worldwide each year. A significant proportion utilise high integrity cards or biometrics to prevent compromise to their system yet few have any measure to prevent a person following (tailgating) a cardholder.
Using IRISYS unique thermal imaging technology, the IRS 2100 Tailgate Detector offers a significant increase in security for controlled doors, helping prevent unauthorised access, countering walk-in theft or enforcing the requirement for all employees to use their card for roll-call, audit and safety purposes. By catering for multiple cardholders and simultaneous entry and exit it allows normal use of the controlled door.
The unit is self contained, can interface with most access control systems and the resulting tailgate alarm output can be used to trigger an alarm, sound a local buzzer and activate a CCTV system.
