Pendulum impact tester for Charpy, IZOD and Brugger tests
0.5 - 50 J | CEAST 9050 Series Instron

  • pendulum impact tester for Charpy, IZOD and Brugger tests 0.5 - 50 J | CEAST 9050 Series Instron
The CEAST 9050 Series Pendulums are designed for use in determining the resilience of thermoplastic materials to brittleness under standard impact conditions according to Charpy (bars/pipes), Izod, Dynstat, and Tensile Impact methods, ranging in energy from 0.5 - 50 J (.378 - 36.9 ft-lbs).

Features
The CEAST 9050 Series consists of an ergonomically designed, solid monolithic metal structure housing the components to be used for testing, such as hammers, vises, or supports. A wide, high-resolution, multi-function touch-screen display is placed on the structure base, and used by the operator to insert the test parameters and to view the final results. Connection ports on all versions of the model include an Ethernet for connection directly to the customer network, a USB for printer and flash memory, and a RS232 for connection directly to a PC. Self-identifying hammers are mounted to the frame with a quick change connector and their speed is electronically measured by means of a magnetic, non-contacting encoder.

9050 Manual Model
The CEAST 9050 Manual Model has a manual hammer repositioning system and a braking system that is manually activated by the operator. The hammer release, which is a two-handed system as standard can be specified as pneumatic. A transparent safety enclosure, which protects the operator when the hammer is in motion, increases operator safety.
