ISS developed a unique data acquisition card for Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) applications, featuring:
* Acquisition and storage of raw data, which can be utilized for further analysis
* Capability of simultaneous data acquisition in two channels
* FCS data acquisition in time mode or photon mode
* Acquisition triggered by an external signal
* Trigger out to synchronize external devices
* A user-selected delay for acquisition after the trigger by an external source
* Acquisition synchronized with excitation light source
The ability to acquire and store raw data is essential for allowing the researcher to experiment with different analysis models without losing the information content of the acquired data. With the ISS data acquisition board, the researcher can try various models and then calculate the auto-correlation function, the photon counting histograms or higher order correlation functions. As the board is built on PCI architecture, simultaneous data acquisition on more than two channels can be implemented by using more than one board.
