Italplant's MK3 Parallel Shaft Indexers are generally utilized for applications that involve converting constant rotary input motion into intermittent output rotary motions. Movement conveyance is achieved via pairs of cams (each) that have conjugated profiles, input shaft mounted-functions, and meshing components with sets of roller followers. Roller followers are pre-loaded, in order to ensure accurate positioning of output shafts during indexing and dwell operations. Cam profiles are hardened and ground, while the roller followers are mounted on hardened shafts; they are also supported at both ends. The profiles are engineered to mesh with at least 2 opposite followers. This stops any play process possibilities, and improves accuracy and repeatability of the indexing. Possible shock and vibration occurrences are also minimized.
