The rod is permanently excited by 2 piezo-electric oscillators. The mechanical oscillations are converted into an electrical signal used as a reference. When the product reaches the rod, the mechanical vibration stops and leads to a variation in the potential of the oscillating crystal and the switching of the signal relay.
Different lenghts are available on demand, as well as a high temperature version up to 150°C.
